Marcus Rashford has hit back at the Tory Work and Pensions Secretary after she replied to his free school meals campaign with a "flippant" tweet.
The 22-year-old Manchester United footballer renewed calls today for the government to continue free meal vouchers over the summer holidays.
In a plea to MPs he tweeted: "When you wake up this morning and run your shower, take a second to think about parents who have had their water turned off during lockdown".
But Therese Coffey replied: "Water cannot be disconnected though." The blunt reply caused outrage on Twitter where it was branded detached and heartless.
