More than two dozen music and entertainment companies joined together Friday (March 20) to send a joint letter to the United States Congress asking for financial relief as the coronavirus crisis continues to ripple throughout the country.
In a letter addressed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Democratic L eader Chuck Schumer, the companies laid out the specific challenges facing the entertainment community.
Those include canceled tours and festivals, the closing of concert halls and theaters and bars and the fact that so many of those working in the entertainment industry are contractors or freelancers and thus do not have access to paid or sick leave
