NHS workers have been banned from shopping at a supermarket just yards from one of the country's biggest hospitals - unless they change out of their uniforms.
Staff at high-end supermarket Booths have been ordered to refuse service to anyone wearing scrubs or nursing tunics over fears they could spread coronavirus.
Booths, known as the “Waitrose of the North”, have 28 stores in Northern England and one right outside Royal Preston Hospital, which is used by hundreds of staff daily.
The company issued a statement saying the ruling was made following newly issued NHS guidelines and safety protocols penned by the Royal Preston Hospital.
