There have been 1,066 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Northern Ireland during the past 24 hours, the second highest daily figure.
Based on population sizes, that is equivalent to over 2,700 south of the border. One further death has been recorded, taking the official Department of Health toll to 588.
It is the second time Northern Ireland has recorded more than 1,000 new cases in three days. The figure is 600 higher than the number of new cases last Sunday.
The 7-day infection rate per 100,000 in Northern Ireland is 314.0. The rate in the worst affected area - Derry and Strabane - is now 946.4.
