Wexford County Council has said its using drone technology to look for any increase in visitors to the county as the Bank Holiday weekend approaches.
The local authority has said that so far it has found no evidence of non-compliance with Covid-19 restrictions. The council added that it will it will pass any evidence found using the drone to gardaí to assist with their policing of the restrictions.
The council has also said its drones are flown at a height that protects privacy. David Minogue, communications officer with the council, said the council will be looking for any evidence of increasing number of cars in an area.
