Officials: Driver, 18, charged in Cheltenham DUI crash that killed 1, injured 3 others

Alexander Koenigsberg, 18 (Montgomery County District Attorney's Office)CHELTENHAM, Pa. - Montgomery County officials have charged an 18-year-old man with homicide by vehicle and DUI in connection with a crash that killed on person and seriously injured three others in January.

On Friday, officials announced the arrest of Alexander Koenigsberg in connection with the Jan. 23 crash that killed 20-year-old Nicholas Bednarek.The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m.

on the 1000 block of Greenwood Avenue. Cheltenham police responded to the crash scene and found four people inside a 2006 Honda Civic and Koenigsberg lying on the ground outside the vehicle with the driver’s side door open.

All Koenigsberg and the other four occupants were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries and Bednarek was pronounced dead later that morning.

The session has been adjourned till 11am on Monday, April 11.Despite the PTI government’s hectic efforts to avoid voting on the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan, the historic session of the National Assembly to decide his fate began on Saturday at 10:30am in line with the Supreme Court’s decision. The much-awaited session, however, witnessed at least four breaks with the government seeking some way out of the situation, but in the end, the Opposition was able to get their way.There were many deliberations that the Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa might be replaced, but Imran Khan refuted the reports, and nothing of the sort took place.Imran Khan was elected on August 18, 2018, and his term ended on April 10, 2022.
