WEST PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia officials say a shooting between two vehicles on the Schuylkill Expressway shut the highway down Thursday evening.Authorities said the shooting began near Girard Avenue, on the Expressway, around 6:00 p.m.The shooting is being treated as a road rage investigation.

Officials say no injuries have been reported.The eastbound side of the highway was closed for about a half hour while police investigated the incident.

Southeast Delaware County School District to receive $94K to upgrade school security

SHARON HILL, Pa. - The Southeast Delaware County School District will receive more than 94-thousand dollars in state grant money to upgrade school security systems.Elected officials from the county announced the funding on Tuesday during a press conference at the Academy Park High School in Sharon Hill. BRISTOL, Pa. - A Bucks County man is facing charges in a deadly Christmas Eve hit-and-run after he turned himself in on Monday. According to police, 65-year-old John Dugan was walking to a Christmas party with a woman on State Road near 4th Avenue just after 5 p.m. when a suspected medical condition caused him to fall into the road. The woman who was walking with Dugan told responding officers that she tried to help him up, but a passing truck ran him over, authorities said.

Melissa Lucio's execution halted by Texas appeals court

DALLAS - A Texas appeals court on Monday delayed the execution of Melissa Lucio amid growing doubts about whether she fatally beat her 2-year-old daughter in a case that has garnered the support of lawmakers, celebrities and even some jurors who sentenced her to death.The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted a request by Lucio's lawyers for a stay of execution so a lower court can review her claims that new evidence would exonerate her. It was not immediately known when the lower court would begin reviewing her case. Lucio had been set for lethal injection Wednesday for the 2007 death of her daughter Mariah in Harlingen, Texas.The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals stepped in just two days before Lucio was scheduled to die by lethal injection. In its decision, the state court ordered the Cameron County trial court to consider new evidence presented by Lucio’s legal team.

Police investigating apparent murder-suicide at Chester County home

MARLBOROUGH TWP. - Authorities say two adults and a child were killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Chester County. Officers from the East Marlborough Township Police Department went to a home on Federal Walk in Kennett Square Monday for a wellness check. Police say a 55-year-old man, a 50-year-old woman and a 12-year-old were found shot to death. Police found multiple spent shell casings and a semi-automatic handgun at the home.
