Offshore workers have been left stunned by an oil company ’s plans to cut more than 130 jobs. Aberdeen based drilling contractor, Archer, made the shock announcement last week. The decision was slammed by Unite officials who said it would “explore all legal options” to protect its members.
But now employees have also hit out at the company ’s decision not to use the government’s furlough scheme and claim 80% of their wages during the coronavirus pandemic.
One furious worker got in touch with the Record after Thursday’s shock decision. They explained that all 130 workers got “at risk” notifications warning them their jobs were not safe.
