People over 65 could start receiving invitations for their first coronavirus jab from next week. In a sign of growing optimism about the pace of the vaccine rollout, officials are said to be looking at moving onto the next priority group, which includes around three million people.
Downing Street did not rule out reports that letters could start going out to people aged 65 to 69-years-old next week, saying it was a matter for "individual hospitals and GPs".
Boris Johnson pledged to deliver first doses to the most vulnerable groups by February 15, which includes the over 70s, the clinically extremely vulnerable, care home residents and front line NHS and care workers.
