Linda Bauld said the overall response will be viewed as a "system failure" in a damning verdict on the government's leadership.Her remarks come one day after Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the government did "all we could" to tackle the pandemic - despite shocking figures putting Britain among the worst in the world."I think we’re going to look back on this as a system failure," prof Bauld told BBC Radio Scotland."I think we came into this pandemic under prepared for a virus like this, we at a UK level chose not to follow the model of south-east Asian countries."During the last 11 months the response and some of the decisions that have been made have certainly directly contributed particularly to the second wave.
