The Legislative Standing Committee has agreed on 25% of youth representation under the proposed Local Authorities Elections (Amendment) Bill.The Local Government Elections (Amendment) Bill presented by MPs Premnath C.

Dolawatta and Imthiaz Bakeer Markar as Private Members’ Bills along with Ministerial reports were considered by the Legislative Standing Committee recently (28) in Parliament.The Legislative Standing Committee which took into discussion the said Bill was chaired by Ajith Rajapakse, Deputy Speaker of Parliament.Standing Orders 53(4) dictates that "No clause that is not in accordance with the basic desire of the Honorable Member presenting a Bill shall be allowed to be included in a Bill." Accordingly, the committee directed to re-draft the Bill 126 considering the youth representation.The Committee also instructed the officials of Attorney-General’s Department and Legal Draftsman Department to re draft the Bill No.

Recalled Jetson Rogue Self-Balancing Scooter/Hoverboard (side view) (CPSC/ Jetson Electric Bikes) Jetson Electric Bikes is recalling 53,000 scooters/ hoverboards over fire hazards following the death of two kids, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The lithium-ion battery packs in the 42-volt Jetson Rogue self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat and pose a fire hazard, according to the recall notice posted by the CPSC. In April 2022, a 10-year-old girl and her 15-year-old sister were killed in a fire that broke out in Hellertown, Pennsylvania. HYUNDAI AND KIA TO RECALL MORE THAN HALF MILLION VEHICLES OVER FIRE CONCERNAlthough the cause of the fire is still undetermined, the "Hellertown Borough Fire Marshal determined that a 42-volt Jetson Rogue was the point of origin of the fire," according to the notice. "The fire then spread from the room of origin to other portions of the house, resulting in the deaths of the two girls and smoke inhalation injuries to the girls’ parents," the recall continued. There has also been several other reported incidents where the product was burning sparking or melting.
