Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan 's replacement has been announced after he confirmed on social media that he is being tested for coronavirus after showing symptoms, and won't be on the show tomorrow.

ITV have confirmed to the Sun Online that Friday presenter Ben Shephard will be replacing Piers tomorrow, presenting alongside Susanna Reid.

Piers posted on social media: "UPDATE: On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48hrs, I’ve had a test for COVID-19 and so won’t be working on @GMB until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow."
