Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan tests negative for coronavirus after missing Good Morning Britain

Piers Morgan has confirmed he's tested negative for coronavirus. The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter explained last night that he had taken a test for Covid-19 and would not return to screens until he got the results back.

Instead, Ben Shephard replaced Piers on Monday on GMB as he joined Susanna Reid to present the show. Taking to Twitter, the father-of-four revealed his doctors advised him to take a test after he showed symptoms.

He wrote: "My Covid-19 test was negative. I was advised to take the test by my doctor after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and was entitled to do so as a government-designated essential worker. "I'll be back on Good Morning Britain as soon as my doctor advises I'm OK to return to work." Su
