Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan confirms he will be replaced on Good Morning Britain next week

Piers Morgan has confirmed that he won't be on Good Morning Britain next week as he takes a week-long holiday. Susanna Reid and Dr Hilary will also be taking a break and the journalist, 55, admitted that it had been a "long old haul" reporting daily on the coronavirus pandemic.

Piers was asked by Susanna whether he was going anywhere nice during the half-term and he quipped: "I'm going upstairs!" Earlier, Piers confessed that his life "hadn't changed much" since lockdown.

He said: "I can't occasionally go to restaurants or go on planes... and we can actually come to work and we've probably been working much harder than we ever had.
