Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan hinted he may not return to present Good Morning Britain after his break from the ITV show next week. The GMB host told viewers on Wednesday's show that he, Susanna Reid and Dr Hilary Jones are all on holiday from the programme next week.

And he's hinted today could be his last show as the programme began today. As he opened the show, Piers, 55, said to Susanna, 44: "Today could be our last day.

You never know do you? These days. "It's weird to have half term off when there's no half term. We're sort of having half term off from this. "Everyone needs a bit of time out to think about all of this." Susanna asked Piers if he was going anywhere nice for what should be half-term week, as he joked: "I'm going upstairs.
