Police caught people from Huddersfield in Rochdale despite lockdown - 'they were hungry'

Britain has been in lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus for weeks - but still police are having to deal with people who can't follow the rules.

The latest example involved an incident on the roads near Rochdale. The town centre policing team told how they stopped a Volkswagen Golf last night to speak to the occupants.

Two people 'decided it would be a good idea to visit Rochdale for a kebab', the GMP Rochdale account tweeted. Not only did the pair have a ridiculous excuse for breaching lockdown rules, their vehicle was also found to be in an unsafe condition.
