Almost 300 vulnerable residents in West Dunbartonshire have lost their home care support due to the coronavirus crisis.Home care packages across the area have been cut by almost 20 per cent due to West Dunbartonshire Council struggling to staff the service.A total of 1232 older people and those with disabilities received home care in April – a reduction of 284 since January.Families have been asked to step in and the local authority says this has only been agreed in cases following extensive discussions.The figures were revealed as part of an investigation, which found thousands of people across Scotland have lost their home care support or had the level dramatically reduced.Charity Age Scotland is calling for more investment in social care
