PHILADELPHIA - The brother of a young man who was killed in a mass shooting in Philadelphia said his brother had just stepped outside to go to the store when he was fatally shot."Just walked out of the house, I guess [the shooter] was right there and shot him twice," Dominque Evans said. "It's just sad, this is stuff you see on TV, not real life, that's why I'm so shocked."Lashyd Merritt was one of five people who were gunned down Monday night when police say a lone gunman armed with a rifle and a handgun began his murderous rampage at 56th and Chester. The 40-year-old shooter, identified by police sources as Kimbrady Carriker, is accused of shooting "aimlessly" at both occupied vehicles and people on the street.

BENSALEM, Pa. - Police say they have successfully identified a man they claimed was wreaking havoc on the streets of one Bucks County township.Investigators in Bensalem took to social media Monday to ask for the public's help in identifying him.Witnesses told police a young man was driving dangerously near the intersection of Spruce and Hazel Avenue in Trevose Monday afternoon.The motorcyclist was also caught running stop signs repeatedly in Bensalem Township, according to authorities.MORE HEADLINES:He could be seen riding his motorcycle without a helmet at least one occasion in a photo posted by police.Tuesday, police shared an update on their investigation saying they had identified the rider and that he would be receiving traffic violations. 

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities have identified five people who were killed when they say a gunman opened fire through the streets of a Philadelphia neighborhood Monday evening. Police say the barrage of gunfire began around 8:30 p.m. when officers were flagged down at the intersection of 56th and Chester streets in Kingsessing. Responding officers discovered multiple gunshot victims and spent shell casings at that scene and continued to hear gunfire coming from nearby on Frazier Street. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw says officers caught up with the gunman and were able to corner him in a back alley on the 1600 block of Frazier Street and take him into custody.Police say charges are pending against the 40-year-old male suspect.

PHILADELPHIA - A rideshare driver on route taking a passenger through North Philadelphia was shot and severely injured on Wednesday night, authorities say. According to police, the incident happened just after 11 p.m. in the area of Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue. Officials say when officers arrived on scene, they saw the vehicle, a Honda CRV, that jumped the curb and struck a utility pole. A 34-year-old driver was slumped in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to the head, law enforcement officials said. Police investigate scene of crash involving rideshare driver shot in the area of Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue.  MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe driver was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he is in extremely critical condition, according to authorities. Chief Inspector Scott Small told FOX 29 the rideshare driver was going westbound on the 1300 block of Lehigh Avenue after picking up an 18-year-old female passenger a few blocks away. Officials say the passenger told detectives she heard about five or six gunshots before the vehicle's windshield broke, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, jump the curb and crash. According to investigators, at least one bullet went through the driver's rear headrest. Small says the passenger is extremely lucky she was not also struck by gunfire. Police say six spent shell casings were discovered on scene. Investigators do not know if the rideshare driver was targeted or was struck by stray gunfire, Small says. Police are investigating after a rideshare driver was shot while driving as passenger in North Philadelphia, authorities say.
