The Queen has sent a message to Boris Johnson’s family and his pregnant partner Carrie Symonds after the Prime Minister was rushed to intensive care last night with coronavirus.
Buckingham Palace has said Her Majesty told the family today that they were in her thoughts and that she wishes Mr Johnson a full and speedy recovery.
The Prime Minister, 55, had been taken to St Thomas' Hospital in London on Sunday evening as he continued to show "persistent symptoms" of Covid-19.
But last night he was suddenly rushed into the ICU unit after his condition worsened throughout the afternoon, and was receiving oxygen treatment.
