The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has paid tribute to NHS workers at St Thomas' Hospital in central London saying 'I owe them my life'.

In a short statement issued this evening as he continues his recovery, Mr Johnson, 55, said: "I can't thank them enough. I owe them my life." The PM is spending his seventh night in hospital after being admitted last Sunday, ten days after testing positve for COVID-19.

Downing Street said on Saturday that Mr Johnson was making 'very good progress' after being moved out of intensive care and had spent a night of playing games and watching films.

The movies the PM has been watching are said to include Withnail And I, starring Richard E Grant, and the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
