Boris Johnson's fiancé says she feels 'incredibly lucky' after the prime minister was discharged from hospital. Carrie Symonds praised the staff who treated her fiancé for coronavirus at St Thomas' Hospital in London and said she would 'never be able to repay' them.
Mr Johnson was discharged from hospital this afternoon and will now continue his recovery at Chequers while taking a break from work, a statement from Downing Street said.
Ms Symonds, who is expecting her first child with Mr Johnson, said there were times "that were very dark indeed" during her fiancé's hospital stay.
