The RSPCA has launched an urgent appeal for donations after the coronavirus crisis has led to a '95 per cent loss of income'.
Nationwide the animal welfare charity say they have received around 60,000 calls to their animal cruelty line since the COVID-19 outbreak escalated in the UK in the early March.
But the RSPCA is facing a funding shortfall after the government enforced a lockdown and the closure of all its shops. The charity needs funds to keep rescue teams, vets and nurses - who are classed as key workers - working in the animal centres.
The RSPCA Rochdale Animal Centre said the centre is 'stretched to the limit' and 'income is down by 95 per cent' since the lockdown was enforced.
