Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

PIERS Morgan has savaged a commentator who laid into people "worshipping" the National Health Service - branding the post the "most digusting tweet of the coronavirus crisis".

The tweet, which the 55-year-old star reposted, read: "NHS worship is going to be even more insufferable once this is done than it was before, isn't it?" Good Morning Britain host Piers swiftly condemned the comment, writing: "Most disgusting tweet of the #Coronavirus crisis so far - & the bar was very very low." One NHS worker agreed: "Whats more worrying is the 252 likes for the post- as a nurse myself i can only describe these people as cretins." Another said: "He would feel differently if they saved one of his love ones – the NHS deserve more praise than anyone.
