PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a shooting on a Kensington street, where police say a teenage shooting victim was found. According to authorities, just after 10 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the 800 block of E Allegheny Avenue for a report of gunshots. Officials say responding officers found a 15-year-old girl lying on G Street with a gunshot wound to both thighs. She was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she is in critical condition, but expected to survive, police say. Chief Inspector Scott Small says about 15 minutes later, police heard gunshots as they were investigating the scene. Officers ran in the direction and found a 25-year-old man firing shots, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES According to Small, officers were able to get him to lay down and hand over his weapon. Police say he was also shot in both legs and taken to Temple University Hospital, where he is in stable condition. Officials say investigators believe he was the one who was firing shots on the 800 block of E Allegheny, where the teenage girl was struck. The man was also taken into custody, police say. According to investigators, 14 spent shell casings were found at the scene. Police say cars on E Allegheny Avenue were also struck by gunfire. This is a developing story.

HIGHLANDS, N.J. - A 15-year-old boy died and several other victims were taken to hospitals after six people were pulled from the ocean at an unguarded New Jersey beach over the weekend, authorities said.Officials said it happened at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Hook in the Gateway National Recreation Area.

(Taste By Spellbound) Employees at a Connecticut bakery were left terrified last week after a hungry black bear barged into the garage and helped itself to 60 cupcakes. Miriam Stephens, owner of Taste by Spellbound in the town of Avon, said workers were loading cakes into a van for delivery on Wednesday when the bear strolled in. The employee "looked up and saw a bear staring at her from the South Windsor side," Stephens wrote in an Instagram post.

VENICE, Italy - Italian officials are stumped after a patch of Venice's famed Grand Canal turned a fluorescent green over the weekend.Footage released by the Vigili del Fuoco, Italy’s national firefighters, shows a patch of Venice's famed Grand Canal turning a fluorescent green Sunday morning in the Rialto area.Environmental officials with the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection and Prevention of Veneto said they are investigating alongside Venice's police and fire departments. Authorities said the green substance was present on the surface and soluble in the water. CHESTER, Pa. - Police in Chester County are investigating a shooting, officials say. Authorities say the shooting took place near the parking lot of Subaru Park, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Union, around 11:20 p.m. on Sunday. According to the Chester Police Chief, officers responded to the area of Front and Norris Streets for a report of a woman being shot in the hand. Responding officers arrived and saw a large crowd on scene, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhile treating the injured woman, officers received calls about more shooting victims showing up to a local hospital, officials say. Five juveniles and two adults were injured as a result of the shooting, according to police. One juvenile is in critical condition, while the rest are expected to physically recover, officials say.

PENNSAUKEN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - A Camden County house fire that caused multiple injuries on Memorial Day is under investigation, officials say. According to authorities, Camden County firefighters responded to a fire on the 3000 block of Finlaw Avenue just after 5 a.m. on Monday. FOX 29's cameras captured significant damage to the property after flames tore through the property. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe Pennsauken Fire Department says responding crews arrived on scene and found heavy flames on the first and second floors. Firefighters responded to a home on Finlaw Avenue in Pennsuaken Township that was engulfed in flames and sent five people to the hospital, officials say.  Officials say a person was trapped in the basement of the property and firefighters were able to rescue them. Another victim jumped from a second-floor window to escape the flames, according to authorities. Fire officials say five people were transported to local hospitals, including two people in critical condition and three in stable condition. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials say. This is a developing story.
