Six people died in the UK in February after contracting coronavirus, but the first death was not officially announced until March 5.
NHS England said the country's first death happened on February 28, days before it was officially announced, according to a report.
The NHS announced the death almost a week later but did not reveal when the woman passed away, the Mirror reports. Health trusts in England have now said six people died in hospitals as early as February after contracting the virus.
To date, 2,921 have died in the UK with more than 33,000 cases of Covid-19 confirmed. The death toll in Scotland has also been under-reported due to delays in informing the government of deaths, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon revealed on Thursday.
