A West Lothian dad saved his son's life by donating his kidney after he received an incurable diagnosis.Craig MacDonald, 28, developed chronic kidney failure and found out his kidney function had reduced by a staggering 92 per cent.

His mum, dad, older sister and several extended family members stepped forward to save him from a future on dialysis and luckily dad James was a match. The pair, from Livingston, underwent the lifesaving transplant operation at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in February last year.James, 57, a Manufacturer at a packaging company, said: “Craig and I are really close.

We have worked together for many years, and I just wanted to give Craig his life back. I didn’t think twice about it and I think any father would want to do that for their child.”Craig added: “I’m so thankful to my family, to my dad and to the transplant team for saving my life.

The transplant experience has brought me and my dad even closer together.”Craig’s journey with kidney issues began in childhood, but it wasn’t until a family holiday in 2021 that his symptoms became clearer.

Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.”He also apologised to the trans community “for the pain these comments have caused”.I want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are.— Emma Watson (@EmmaWatson) June 10, 2020Watson has also spoken out in support of the community, including a tweet in 2020 which read: “Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are.
