Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been rushed to hospital from prison. The rapper was reportedly raced from the Metropolitan Detention Centre to Brooklyn Hospital in the middle of the night. The rapper, who is awaiting trial for numerous alleged sex crimes, complained of severe pain.

Sources said Diddy was rushed to hospital for a check up as an "old injury was bothering him", The Mirror reports. It is believed to be his knee that was causing him pain and he returned to the detention centre that night after having an MRI.

An insider told DailyMail.com that Diddy received the scan before being returned to his cell - and that it was not an altercation behind bars that caused the pain.Diddy spent Christmas in prison where he is awaiting trial after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation and engaging in prostitution.

The 55-year-old is expected to be locked up until his trial starts in May. On top of the criminal charges Combs faces, several people have also brought civil actions against him, claiming he subjected them to physical or sexual abuse, including his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie.
