Police have warned that sextortion crimes are on the rise during lockdown with crooks using webcams to snare people looking for love.

The cyber scam usually targets those dating online by using fake accounts which encourage victims to send intimate pictures or perform sex acts on screen.

Officers say that they have seen an increase in the number of such incidents since the outbreak of coronavirus as people are spending more time at home.
