A wreath was laid at Coatbridge’s industrial museum to mark an especially poignant international workers’ memorial day.Unison North Lanarkshire branch chairman Willie Shearer left the floral tribute at the memorial plaque dedicated to the memory of those who have lost their lives at work, which is in place at the gates of Summerlee heritage park.It took place as a respectful minute’s silence honoured healthcare staff and frontline key workers who have died during the Covid-19 pandemic, with people across Monklands joining those all over the UK in the 11am tribute.NHS staff and members of Unison’s Lanarkshire health branch were among the many across the area who observed the national tribute, as they stood in silence outside the health
