Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris has confirmed that he has tested positive for Covid-19. The former Minister for Health shared his result on social media, alongside a picture of a positive antigen test. "Woke up feeling a bit rotten today and took an antigen test.
Unfortunately, it is positive," Mr Harris wrote. "Will be working away from home for next few days. Suggestions to occupy the time in isolation also welcome." As of 8am today, 907 Covid-19 patients were being treated in hospital, up 30 from yesterday.
A total of 37 patients were being treated in ICU as of 11.30am, down four from yesterday. Yesterday, the department of health reported 4,065 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19 and a further 7,617 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.
