Only Fools and Horses legend Sir David Jason has shared a health update with fans after he pulled out of a number of shows. David released a statement on Saturday, 12 August, to tell his fans that a scheduled operation means that he has to pull out of the upcoming Only Fools and Horses Convention.The 83 year old is about to have an operation to have a "new bionic body part fitted".
On a Facebook supporters page, David broke the news to his fans as he said that he looks forward to meeting his fans next year.
David wrote: "Unfortunately, I have just been advised I need a new bionic body part fitted. "I won’t tell you which part it is, or you will all want one! "And don’t worry it’s not being supplied by Monkey Harris, it’ll be the pukka gear. "I really hope everyone will be able to make the new date (January 13th and 14th ), and we can all have something cushty to look forward to!" The TV legend then went on to say that the events are always "an enjoyable celebration" for him and his fellow cast members.
He also said that the decision to pull out of the shows was one that he "didn't take lightly." In the post, he also opened up about meeting his fans again, as he said that he wants to do it with "the smile on my face I always have had." As his message continued, David shared his apologies once more before he asked for some "cushty wishes" for now.To end the honest post, David wrote: "Hoping to be lovely jubbly when I meet you all in the new year." David played the iconic character Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter on the classic show from 1981 until 2003.The special convention, was due to be held in Milton Keynes this October however, it will now take place in the same location but on January 13 and 14.
