Spike Lee dropped a powerful short film on his Twitter page featuring the deaths of Eric Garner and George Floyd. Celebrities have been calling for change across social media after hearing news of Floyd’s death in Minneapolis last week.
The 46-year-old died after he was arrested and a white police officer knelt on his neck for over eight minutes, despite Floyd insisting he couldn’t breathe.
Back in 2014, Garner was arrested and a white police officer used a chokehold to restrain him. He later died in hospital. Addressing police brutality in the US, Academy Award-winning director Spike asked the question: ‘When will history stop repeating itself?’ His film, titled 3 brothers, shared footage from the arrests of both Floyd and Garner,
