Amanda Abbington has revealed she received death threats since sharing her diagnosis of PTSD that led to her exit on Strictly Come Dancing. The actress, 51, cited medical reasons for her sudden departure from the hit show in October and she has since shared her "mild PTSD" diagnosis.

The sudden exit led to speculation about supposed training room rows between Amanda and her partner Giovanni Pernice. The 51-year-old was reportedly unhappy with 'perfectionist' Giovanni's methods of teaching.

Amanda has now opened up about the threats to herself and her children in the wake of her exit, reports the Mirror. In a post this weekend, Amanda wrote: "I was diagnosed with mild PTSD after Strictly for several reasons and I told a few people about that, in the utmost confidence, among other things that were happening in my life at the time both professionally and personally."She went on: "I’m very sorry that people felt the need to send me death threats, threaten my children and bring up my past, healthy relationship with an ex-partner as an indicator of my current mental health.

I wish those people well."During her time on Strictly, she earned praise from judges for her dances with Giovanni. Amanda did not give a specific reason for her departure when she quit in the sixth week of competition.
