King Charles has issued a heartfelt statement following the news of his cancer diagnosis earlier this week. The 75-year-old monarch revealed his 'greatest encouragement' had been the kind thoughts and support from members of the public since the news of his diagnosis.Six days after his condition was revealed, King Charles updated royal family fans in a statement from Buckingham Palace, which explained how he had received an onslaught of support after sharing his cancer news. The Mirror reports that Charles says the wishes have helped his journey and "such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement," nine words crucial to his statement issued by Buckingham Palace on Saturday evening.

The King had been in hospital for treatment for an enlarged prostate last month, but it is understood the cancer isn't that of his prostate. He goes on: "I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days.

As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement."His heartfelt message continues: "It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organisations which support cancer patients and their families across the UK and wider world.

My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater as a result of my own personal experience."King Charles' procedure in hospital reportedly 'went well' and he managed to go and visit his daughter in law Kate Middleton afterwards, who was also recovering in hospital after an operation that same week.
