A schoolgirl was rushed to hospital after being mowed down by a 4x4 this afternoon.Emergency crews were scrambled to Back O’Hill Road, in the shadow of Stirling Castle, at around 3pm on Sunday.The 14-year-old girl was raced to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment.

Her condition is not known.The driver of the car, which is believed to be a silver 4x4-style vehicle, stopped briefly at the scene and officers are now keen to trace them.Road Policing Constable Ian Marshall said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

I would urge the driver, or anyone who may have seen the crash, to come forward. In addition, if you have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please contact us.”Anyone who can assist is asked to call 101, quoting 2060 of 11 February, 2024.
