King Charles kept his meeting with Prince Harry short due to the need for “calm”, a royal expert has claimed. After Buckingham Palace announced on Monday 5 February that the monarch, 75, had been diagnosed with cancer, Prince Harry, 39, jetted from his home in California to London to meet with his father.

The meeting took place on Tuesday 6 February at Clarence House, the King’s official residence, though it’s unclear how long the pair spent together.

While some reports have suggested that the meeting had been between half an hour and 45 minutes long, British socialite Lady Colin Campbell has claimed that the father-son reunion “lasted exactly 12 minutes”.

According to royal expert Robert Jobson, the decision to keep things under the one hour mark was in order to preserve a sense of “calm” amid the King’s health battle. “You don't want his blood pressure going up.The King's not very well, whatever type of cancer it is, he's undergoing treatment,” he told The Sun.
