Transmission rates are the highest they have been in six months after 1,300 positive tests were recorded in the last week, a rate of 452 cases per 100,000 people.
But, in the Lever Edge area of the borough the figures are significantly higher, with 1,940 cases per 100,000 people, the equivalent of nearly one infection for every 50 people, data from Public Health England shows.
