A detached house in Altrincham was the most expensive house sold in Greater Manchester last month. The detached property on Dorset Road sold for a whopping £1.2 million.

However it was the only sale to top the £1m mark as the housing market took a big hit as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

A detached house in Lostock, Bolton sold for £935,000 whilst the next biggest sale was in Woodford, Stockport at £725,000. According to the Land Registry, 5,176 home sales have been registered from March - that’s barely a third of the number, 16,042, registered at the same point last month.

The drop is believed to be due to a combination of the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on both house sales and on the registration of sales.
