A third person who was diagnosed with Covid-19 has died, the Department of Health has said. There have also been 191 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Ireland, bringing the total in the country to 557.
There has been an increase in Covid-19 testing here after the National Public Health Emergency Team changed the thresholds last Friday.
Cases have been confirmed in every county apart from Monaghan, according to Department figures. Speaking at a press briefing, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said the Department of Health would not have expected to see any impact from social distancing measures on the figures at this point.
