Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan, has said the number of cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Ireland is in line with projections.
The number one thing the National Public Health Emergency Team wants to get across to people this weekend is how important and valuable of social distancing is at this crucial stage in the battle to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
They want people, when engaging outside their households, to stay at least 1m and preferably to 2m apart. Covid-19 truly is deadly.
By the end of the month we could have 15,000 confirmed cases here. Around 80% of cases of Covid-19 will be a mild to moderate illness, close to 14% have severe disease and around 6% are critical.
