Today's Public Health Scotland Covid infection rate latest for every council area as 2,194 cases recorded

Another 2,194 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Scotland within the last 24 hours.Data has been published this afternoon by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland (PHS) as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.Nationally, there are 857 patients being treated in hospital which is up 28 from yesterday.

There are currently 44 people with the disease being treated in ICUs. The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 167 to 43,153.Of the new cases, 78 were from East Ayrshire, 52 in North Ayrshire and 37 attributed to South Ayrshire.A total of 609,959 positive tests have now been recorded from 3.325 million tests carried out since the start of the pandemic.
