Tourists arrested after holding shisha party during Thailand coronavirus lockdown

Seven tourists had a shisha party during coronavirus lockdown, police said today. The five men; Abao Hakin, 28, Hrarat Sani, 31, Hassane Nordine, 36, 27-year-old Elidrissi Janeledokme, Elhedli Mehdi, 31, and two women; Roune Yasmino, 20, and Zied Larbita, 26, have now been arrested in Thailand.

Officer raided their villa in Phuket on Sunday night, after angry neighbours turned them in, and found the friends sitting on the patio passing around the smoking pipes.

The hookah pipes and the smoking paraphernalia were confiscated. The French holidaymakers - stuck in the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic which has caused flights to be cancelled - were later pictured at the police station with their heads in their hands.
