The force received a report of an illegal gathering at a city centre flat on Friday night, said to be ‘in full swing’. When they got there, they found that more than half of those partying were in fact probationary officers on the force.
Eleven people were issued with fixed penalty notices, seven of whom were student GMP officers. The officers are still understood to have reported for duty this week but are being investigated by the force’s Professional Standards branch.
