A further 368 people have died in the UK from coronavirus, NHS England confirmed, bringing the country's total death toll to 18,452.
The dip is the lowest the death toll has fallen to since coronavirus cases in the UK spiked. Of the new deaths 336 occurred in England, bringing the regions total to 18,420.
It comes just a day after the UK reached 20,000 recorded Covid-19 fatalities, a figure only the worst-affected have reached.
The figures, although chilling, are a sign the UK is continuing to successfully fight the disease head on. Scotland saw a further 18 deaths in the last 24 hours and the country's death toll has now reached 1,249.
