A further 138 people's deaths from Covid-19 have been recorded in the UK, bringing the death toll to 44,968. England endured the bulk of the newly recorded deaths, with 134 people dying of Covid-19 in the country.
The deaths of two people from both Northern Ireland and Wales were recorded. There were no new deaths in Scotland. The figures, which are released by the Department of Health, show a slight decline compared to last Tuesday.
A week ago 155 people deaths were recorded - 21 less than today. There were also 581 newly confirmed cases last week, compared to 398 today.
The figures released today are significantly higher than Sunday and Monday, when 21 and 11 new deaths were recorded respectively.
