The number of coronavirus patients to die in UK hospitals has risen by four to 34,094, health authorities said this afternoon.
Of these latest fatalities, two were in England and two in Wales. No deaths were reported in Scotland, while Northern Ireland has yet to release a daily figure.
The English victims were aged 89 and 91, and both had underlying health conditions, NHS England said. The figure does not include those who died in other settings, including care homes and private addresses.
Yesterday there were five hospital deaths recorded, while government data revealed 1,012 new infections had been confirmed in 24 hours.
