Brits are being urged to stay indoors this weekend as a 20C mini-heatwave sends the mercury soaring higher than in Greece. Warm weather, sunny skies and clear weather will cover most of the UK this weekend as we near the end of two weeks in lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Temperatures will feel warmer than recently, though turning windy in the west. On Sunday, it will again be a dry day with plenty of warm sunshine in the east.
But Brits must heed the social distancing advice reiterated by PM Boris Johnson, Health Secretary Matt Hancock and NHS chiefs on Friday and resist the urge to go on outdoor trips or picnics.
