The UK is still in a "dangerous phase" of coronavirus Deputy Chief Medical Officer Jonathan Van-Tam has said as Britain’s Covid-10 cases continue to climb at a "high level" every day.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Jonathan Van-Tam said it is important for the Government to "keep taking measures to bring this under control," signalling no lockdown in sight for Brits.
He said it is possible to see a "broad trend" in the data but stressed that "this is not over" for the country and it is still in an "increase" and "dangerous phase." It comes as Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed a total of 8,958 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK.
