A 10 per cent cut in pay for certain staff at Manchester Airport for 12 months was agreed in an 'initial' deal struck between unions and airport bosses to protect the business and safeguard jobs amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the M.E.N.

can reveal. Workers would also take a fortnight of the next 12 weeks as annual leave. And the airport's owners also agreed with unions 'three-month career sabbaticals' where staff would be free to find paid work elsewhere.
