Vandals cause thousands of pounds worth of damage at East Kilbride woodlands

Police patrols have been stepped up in a woodland run by a charity in East Kilbride after vandals went on the rampage causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.Volunteers have been left heartbroken after young trees were ripped up and wooden frames and stakes thrown in a wildlife pond along with other debris at K-Woodlands during lockdown.Boozers have also been congregating, discarding drink bottles and other rubbish in the beauty spot.The 16.16 hectares of urban woodland was purchased by East Kilbride Community Trust in 2013.K-Woodlands is one arm of the charity and has only two members of staff with dedicated and hard working volunteers giving up their time to make the project a success.It’s still early days with many of the paths and
